User Profile Web Cam

An App for SharePoint that lets users access their device camera, capture a photo, and upload it as their profile picture in SharePoint / Office 365. Previously available on the Office Store.

How it works

The app provides two actions:

1. Capture image — takes a photo and stores it in the app's Pictures library
2. Update profile picture — sets the captured image as your SharePoint profile picture (requires additional permissions)

You can use the camera feature without granting profile-write permissions — the picture will simply stay in the Pictures library rather than updating your profile automatically.

Permissions

The app requests permission to write to user profiles. When prompted, you can grant or decline — the camera feature works either way.

Privacy

• Images remain within your Office 365 tenancy — nothing is transmitted externally
• Copies are stored in the app site's picture library
• Requires browser webcam access
