Space Crusade Resources - Reloaded

Years ago, I lost my Space Crusade manual.  I combed the Internet to find people that had it, and could scan it for me. In return, I scanned most of my pieces and made them available for other people.

In the years of 2003-2005, hosting large files on the Internet was a big deal.  Now, hosting files is hardly tricky.

Anyway, as I rebuild my site again, I would like to make the files available again.

Space Crusade is Copyrighted by their respective owners: Milton Bradley and Games Workshop.  the resources here are purely for personal use - where losing your game manual is a life and death situation and you must verify a Line of Sight rule because surely your brother's Dreadnaught can't hit your Space Marines from the other board, through 2 bulkhead doors and a gateway.  Or could it?

Have fun!  Feb-2011

DOWNLOADS

I dug out my copy of SC sometime during 2003, 10 years after I've first played it.  Everything remains well kept, except, the mission book(s) are missing.  What followed was a frantic combing through the internet in search for any bits and pieces I can gather for SC.

As I wait for some of the remaining pieces to slide into place, I collect them all together under one location.  Here I present all the official scans available for SC.  You can download them, print them out to replace your missing pieces.

Quality

  • In most cases I have tried to present a good quality copy of the resource here.  But due to bandwidth restrictions, I did not put up the higher quality original scans.  If for any reason you'd like to get your hands on these higher resolution images, please contact me.

In all occurrences where I link to a resource on another person's website, I link to the webpage rather than to the actual file - I don't believe in hijacking other people's links and pretending them to be my own.  But if you do own a certain resource and prefer me not to link to you, please let me know.

There should be a french website with a lot of custom made material.

i think i found it on gameboardgeeks.com somehwere.

thanks for the upload. ive got the Dutch version. Translation is terrible, to the point where there is confusion about some of the rules because of the bad translation.

Wow - great resource, thank you. It irritates me MB or Games Workshop don't host this sort of stuff themselves, I think the MB site bizarrely has just the rulebook for Mission Dreadnought, and nothing else.

Thanks!

I wanted to give a special referrer link back to zenseeker.net/Kid/StarQuest.htm for a super amazing Space Crusade site.

1000 thanks for those scans!! No SC expansions were released where I live, but I wanted to get my hands on them nevertheless. I'll give them a try sooner or later.;)

Hi - thanks for this excellent info - I am trying to sort some sets and games out to sell for my brother. His space crusade and Dreadnaught expansion pack are mixed up. I have them nearly sorted exactly according to the box, manuals and helpful resources like yours but the blips and reinforcement cards confuse me. Is there a list that says how many of each sort. Are the dreadnoughts 8 blips cards the same look as the 8 reinforcements? And finally are the 10 stands for the dnaughts round or rectangle as I have both? Thanks heaps in advance and happy gaming!
Cheers, Julie

I really think you should keep the whole thing in one big mix and sell 2x the price. Spare Crusade parts are a rarity on EBay and lots of interested buyers - some even in the US since it was never sold there.

Hi - I would like the high res images. Any chance of getting them?

September 28, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNEdius

@Nedius
Since I will need to manually scan the entire book again at a higher resolution, you will need to pass a very high persuasion check.
Why do you need high resolution images? (And which ones.)

@JohnLiu

Bless you! and Thank you! Games workshop being the jerks that they ARE, does not have this for sale, nor do they have anything up for reference. I am putting together a compilation of lost Gamesworkshop games on Demonoid.me soon and it will have Space Crusade, Space Hulk and many other great titles no longer available from the **** jerks at Gamesworkshop. They won't post it for sale, poste it for free or let anyone else post it anywhere for squat. Those jerks will be happy to charge you $100.00 for a small box of UNPAINTED and un-assembled plastic. and Through you out of a tournament for not using Gamesworkshop paint. Yeah! and would refund my entry fee. I could blast Gamesworkshop for years. But instead I will just give their crap away. Jerks. Thanks again for the data. Cheers.

Just note: I love Games Workshop. And I think they deserve to charge what they do for what they make.

When I was a young kid I thought they were really expensive, but now with decent disposable income, not so much. I'm still very choosey about what I end up buying. If I can't afford or justify 4 boxes, I will get 2.

Anyway, the reason I put files here is for reference only for Space Crusade games, since most of these parts aren't available anymore. Games Workshop don't create the Space Crusade games - Milton Bradley (Hasbro) does. But I think they no longer has the license from Games Workshop to remake them now. Which leaves us in a limbo.

To properly play Space Crusade nowadays, you either have to:
1. Pay crazy prices off EBay
2. Get lucky at a garage sale
3. Get similar Warhammer 40K miniatures to replace the Space Crusade miniatures.

Great to see this stuff still around... I *still* love playing this game, and only wish I'd found the Eldar expansion in this country back when I was a kid. Thanks for the credit for my tiny scan work in helping with this collection... if you ever want me to do anything else with my sets, let me know!

PS Just created a quick Windows Gadget Space Crusade Dice Roller the other day! :)

I'm just waiting for my kid to grow a bit older and then we're going to play this.

A great resource, I'm currently rebuilding Space Crusade from the scratch and found some really helpful items here. Also I've put together a game of Space Crusade using the Halo universe just for personal use. Because a guy can like both games right?

I wonder what you'd use for the flood. Genestealer Hybrids?

December 16, 2011 | Registered CommenterJohnLiu.NET

Generally that was what I was thinking yes. Genestealers = Flood. Orks = Brutes and Chaos Marines as Elites. Gretchin = A combination of Grunts and Jackals.
